What makes a good photo is about he timing and the subject that you are taking.  The qualities that make a good photo to me about there subject and how much effort you put into it. I took pictures of what we were told to, but I tired to include flowers and bug into the subjects. I will take photos for my room and for people in the future. I could be a better photographer by focusing more time on it. Pictures are the history that we have to prove. This is our evidence that certain things happened.
